Treatments are repeated every 3-4 weeks. Course of treatments recommended for optimum results. Most patients need a Lumecca IPL maintenance treatment every 6-12 months after their initial treatment course.
Following treatment, patients may experience a mild burning sensation that usually dissipates away within a few hours. Redness of the skin is normal and may last for a few days. There may be a slight amount of swelling. The occurrence of blisters or crusting is uncommon. We highly recommend for patients to limit skin exposure and wearing SPF 50+ is a must.
The healing process can take anywhere from one to two weeks. The darkened area typically begins to fade in 7 to 14 days. During this time, many of the superficial brown spots around the treated area will also become lighter, and less noticeable.
